Diploma in Wine and Wine Culture

An exciting new Diploma in wine and wine culture will be commencing this October in Independent College Dublin. The Diploma takes place over twelve weeks and is taught by some of the finest characters of the wine industry.

'Ireland’s Wine Dream Team Combine for the First Time to Offer a Diploma in Wine and Wine Culture. Beginning on the 11 October and running one evening a week for 12 weeks, some of Ireland’s most knowledgeable, entertaining and experienced writers, journalists, broadcasters and wine professionals will unlock, explore and explain some of humanity’s most alluring, complex and long lived creations.'

This looks like a great opportunity to learn from the best about a subject that permeates culture, time and place. Each evening will be a two hour lecture with the following, a list of the themes and teachers;

Tom Doorley – RTE’s The Restaurant & Irish Daily Mail on Champagne Culture, Taste and History

John Wilson – The Irish Times on The Wines of Germany and Austria

Tomas Clancy – Sunday Business Post on The Great Wines of Bordeaux and the History of Wine

David Whelehan – TV3 and formerly O‘Briens Wines Director of Wine – on The Wine Business and Trade, and the Wines of California

Martin Moran MW – The Sunday Times and Movies and Booze with Moncrieff on Newstalk 106 one of only 297 Master of Wine worldwide, on The Wines of Australia

Raymond Blake – Wine Editor of Food and Wine Magazine on the Wines of Burgundy and Port

Jean Smullen – Prudence magazine, Newstalk 106 and on the Wines of the Southern Hemisphere – Chile, Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand

Matt Nugent – The Sun on the Wines of Spain and Portugal

Ernie Whalley – The Sunday Times and Fork ‘n’ Cork Foodie Forum on Wines of Italy
