Guest Article Series: Michael Power

So we have another guest article here on Empty Glass. Man of the minute for the Article is Michael Power, the rather jolly chap above for those of you who hadn't guessed. He's currently on "holidays" at the moment and has been sampling the local brews of Denmark. Please approach with a view to a light hearted review of "supping on a nice pint of Tuborg Classic". Enjoy reading, we know we did.

Sitting in the hotel bar in Copenhagen, supping on a nice pint of Tuborg Classic, Sweden game is on and the bar lady is nuts, in a cute way. Good for conversation, peanuts and a cheeky wink or two.

It’s straight from the tap, nice and cold and fresh. Presented in a nice half litre glass emblazoned with the Tuborg name and logo it looks very nice. A Nice mid weight beer, not to heavy and not too light, slightly darker then the Tuborg you get out of cans but not by much and the head disappears very fast too! Very pleasant on the palate and goes down very easy (reviewer had about 8 more after this one) Strongest flavour is the hops but not overbearing. The after taste is exceptional! Though that could have been the Wiener schnitzel, I had no more than 15 minutes ago, repeating on me. Not too airy or gassy so it doesn't give you a bellyful of gas and a full feeling. All in all it’s a pleasant beer that is nothing like the muck we get in cans in Ireland. I’d say it’s like Guinness, Lovely in Ireland but it does not travel well at all. Either way when the bar lady gives you 4-5 free pints of the stuff you don’t turn it down.

Looking back on my notes I wrote when supping on this fine pilsner it occurs to me I probably shouldn't start writing a beer review after already having 2 or 3 pints of the stuff.
